#TankaTuesday #Poetry

draped in lustrous robes
I merged with silvery sky
breeze ruffled my hair
ecstatic, I looked around
to ensure I was alive

monsoon clouds cloak me
joyful moments pause to view
when our dreams get wings
celestial artist unfolds
silvery white hinterlands

Thanks to Colleen’s weekly TankaTuesday challenge, which has inspired me to create a double tanka (poems based on color and weather) I chose silver, the color of the Greek goddess Artemis (Roman aspect: Diana). It is symbolic of purity, strength, clarity and focus. It also represents grace, sophistication, elegance, and glamor. In the spiritual and mystical world, silver also has associations with the moon, which has connections to feminine energy.

Thank you.

  1. What a beautiful poem, Balroop. As I was reading it, I was envisioning being outdoors looking at the sky and dreaming of what’s possible. I enjoyed reading your interpretation behind the challenge and your poem – you weaved the symbolisms in so smoothly and seamlessly. Well done 🙂

    1. Thank you Mabel, I am delighted to hear that you were transported to tranquil surroundings, that is a huge compliment for my poetry. 🤗

  2. I love where you got your inspiration from but I really loved the symbolism and imagery in this piece. So pretty. Please come by and check out my blog. I have a couple of poems as well. 🙂
