Moments We Love

New Poetry book

In this book, my poems focus on love, the magical word that brings along the first blush, the first missed heart-beat and also the first heart-break. Mother Nature smiles as we recline in her lap, inhaling its fragrance, weaving dreams of desire and drenching in the deluge of emotions.

Here is an excerpt from Moments We Love:

If you were rain
Would you drench me
With the deluge of your cascading fall
Inundating my urges?

Would you carry me along
As you flow into streams
Of desire, whetted by torrent
Of yearning of ages?

I am just waiting for my editor’s nod and review.

Hues of Peace

An escape from the outside world, a realm of serenity beckoned him. Each time he visited it to calm his inner storms, the color of nature painted his soul. A cadence of flowing water gave him new hope. He immersed his angst in the water, shared his fears with the branches that tossed them away into the air.

Dora’s face smiled from the water that cascaded downhill. A soft hand touched his shoulders. An angelic voice spoke syllables that he yearned to listen.

“I don’t want to see you here, Ron. Go home.”

“I didn’t come to meet you. This is my haven of peace.”

“But you disturb my peace. Go away. Let me rest,” her smile vanished as Dora spoke with a smoky voice.

Crestfallen, Ron walked home to face his demons alone. Moments of life grew blurry. All love crumbled as he looked at the changing colors of Dora’s picture in his living room.

My first attempt at flash fiction. Thanks to Sue Vincent for an inspiring Thursday #photoprompt Span

Who Can Suppress Love?

Wicker figures
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

Their frenzy whirled with them
Eons of wilderness within
Seasons watched in awe
Shrubs shrank to pay obeisance

Berry Terry and Merry,
The silent survivors of friendship
Who couldn’t convince the world
How dance drew them together

Frowned upon and hacked
They didn’t leave though
Love for dance still binds them
With eerie elongated arms

Free from societal ensnares now
Unseen by brutal beasts
They meet at their favorite haunt
And dance each night to glory.

Who can suppress love?

My Mother #HappyMothersDay

My Mom

Who never wore armor
But is an epitome of strength
Who never wore a make-up
Yet her beauty is admirable

Who could digest rudeness
And forgive her perpetrators
Who could keep turmoil within
Alone, on dark dreary days

Who could rise from the abyss of grief
And sacrifice all her desires
Who possessed the mettle to push
The hungry wolves away!

Who could use any curse word
To keep you on the right track
Who forgot to smile
Yet could raise happy kids

Who has never said ‘I love you’
But depth of her love is immeasurable
Who could knock off societal diktats
To nurture the dreams of her children.

No judgments could waver her confidence
No despair could drown her fortitude
Raging circumstances steeled her
To endow her with incredible power.

She redefined the power of women
She lived through difficult times
Please don’t criticize her
You can never fathom her strife.

Who are you to judge her?
You don’t even know a moment,
Millions of which seared her soul
Yet it glistens brighter.

Just Her Poetry #NewRelease

Just Her Poetry

I am delighted to welcome my blogger friend D.L.Finn to celebrate the release of her first poetry book, “Just Her Poetry Seasons of a Soul.”  You would be touched by realism in her poetry, which is inspired from Nature and seasons.

Finn Facts:

  1. I watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows, even when I announce I’m not going to. I hope for love to win, even in the strangest of circumstances.
  2. My favorite flower is a rose. Its beauty mesmerizes me, while its scent relaxes me. I always keep a bottle of rosewater with me.

Blurb:

Take a journey with D.L. Finn as she blends her love of nature with her deepest emotions. Sit with her on the forest floor observing its tranquil beauty, or stroll along the ocean’s shore admiring the vastness of its horizon. Here in these peaceful moments you’ll be able to experience her thoughts and feelings in the light—and in the darkness. This is a thought-provoking collection of poetry that invites the reader into all the seasons of a soul.

Excerpt FROM THE BOOK WORLD:

EVILDWELS MOVE ON

(based on This Second Chance and The Button)

Evildwels cannot exist where there is love.

But if there is doubt, fear, and hate they thrive.

They do their best to extinguish any love,

While feeding on the absence of it.

They only win with their own conquests.

Their hunger fed as they discard their victim.

Time is irrelevant to them…

As they search for the rage they need.

It seems to be in abundance for them.

They can pick their cream of the crop

…And then wipe it out.

The battle can be bleak and boundless

…Between good and evil.

But ultimately, it is evil that loses,

When good repairs the broken soul

…It is the stronger of the two.

It may lose the battle but always wins the war,

Then the good in love becomes the happy ending.

Evildwels move on…searching and waiting

For the cruel satisfaction of temporary hosts

In a moment where love is wiped away

Until love re-emerges…and the evildwel moves on.
