Abandoned princess
Sits by the dark pond, ordained
To usher in light
Her tresses create that magic
The dilemma of drenching haunts.

*****

Dendrophilous dame
Held captive by clawed tentacles
Enigmatic entity

A statue comes alive
When darkness encompasses her
Spiritual sojourn

Thank you Colleen and Diana for choosing this compelling image that instantly pulled me into this challenge.

Crescent

crescent-moon
Sue Vincent’s #Writephoto

Crescent is complacent
It knows its glorious glimmer
Would wilt the transient cover
Of clouds that may seem threatening
Sun whispers hope.
~

I could hear the melodies
Of crescent moon that hung above
Darkness melted with the lilting sound
That merged in the symphony of sun
I chose life.
~

Skeptical of stepping
Into the wider world of hope
Where darkness disturbed the quiet
She stood rooted to the threshold
Shackled by false safety.
~

If the night was dark
A new day is smiling at the horizon
You hug clouds but I look at the sun
The harbinger of new hues
That speak of life.

Celebrating 100th #Poetrychallenge with Colleen

Poetry challenge rules have always intimidated me but I would like to grab this golden opportunity of celebrating with Colleen whose weekly poetry challenge has accomplished 100th milestone and she has given a free choice of words to write a Tanka.

Tanka about self judgment

My inner critic loves
To reprimand softly but passionately
A sentinel of emotions
Who apprises me of the progress
Made on the arch of consciousness.

Freedom is the mother of inspiration. Thank you dear Colleen, I am still learning to write Tanka, Haiku and Senryu, one step at a time.

Joy of Watching the Sky

Night sky

Weaving my way
Through the stars and their light
I gaze at your distant delight
Wondering when will you divest
The shimmering shroud of night

happy clouds

Joy was hanging in the air
I pocketed it and walked home
Now I look at him
In my moments of solitude
To warm my heart with gratitude

Dark #writephoto

dark-hills

When Night Fairy descends
Decked in dark shimmering robes
Disseminating light and love
We look at the moonless sky
Whispering symphony of lullabies.
